Unbelievable transformation in one generation; Oil wealth drives massive development. Over-spending, especially in Dubai, has created massive debt; Has many migrant laborers. Was a poor, rural region and is now a playground for the ultra-rich. It is now trying to branch out into finance and business. Many very wealthy people, but workers tend to be lowly paid and poorly treated. Injustice, human rights violations, and human trafficking are significant problems.

All faiths enjoy religious freedom which is an opportunity for the Gospel. However, expatriates who evangelize or pass out literature too openly can be arrested. Many opportunities exist to spread the Gospel to the workers who come from many nations.
Pray that the church will take advantage of the relative religious freedom here. Pray that workers can be both evangelists and evangelized with the Gospel.
