History / Politics
Parliamentary, constitutional monarchy; British Empire once covered 1/4th of world. Many former colonies have now become part of the British Commonwealth. Constituents (Scotland, Wales, Northern Island) have some degree of self-governance. Many immigrants come to the country looking for work and freedom to better themselves.
The Church of England is in a major crisis over doctrine. Evangelicals strongly impact the Church of England, but the growth has all but stopped. Many immigrants to Britain come from strongly Christian nations (Nigeria, Brazil, and others). Many immigrants come from non-Christian countries, and are more open to the Gospel here.
Pray for the Church of England that revival would occur and that doctrine would be pure. Pray for the many non-Christian immigrants that they would hear and respond to Gospel. Pray that the affluence of the society would not seduce people away from the Gospel. Pray that the Lord would have a revival among the uninvolved, self-professed Christians. Pray that growth in numbers of Evangelical would occur.
