There are now 50,000 Iraqi evangelicals, who found Jesus through radio, witnesses, and dreams. There is a lot of persecution with bribes, kidnapping, rape, and property destruction common. There are opportunities to minister because almost everyone has suffered trauma. Women often suffer forced marriage, abduction, honor killing, and rape. Children often do not attend school, have poor drinking water, and are in poverty.
Pray for the continued growth of evangelicals in Iraq and that they will be discipled. Pray that the persecution of the church ceases and that religious freedom prevails. Pray for the vulnerable women and children to have more safety. Pray for unity among Christian groups; The church has been scattered all over the region.
